Health Officials: Hepatitis C Test Needed for MN Baby Boomers

Attention baby boomers - have you been tested for hepatitis C lately?

The Minnesota Department of Health is reminding people born from 1945 through 1965 to be tested for hepatitis C. The reminder comes for national hepatitis awareness month.

Currently, about 39,000 people statewide are living with the virus.

Police Investigate Car Burglaries at Day Cares, Fitness Club in Savage

Police in Savage are investigating car thefts at day cares and fitness clubs.

Two men are suspected of stealing purses, briefcases and wallets from vehicles at the parking lots of day cares and fitness clubs. The suspects also broke into a vehicle in Burnsville, and then used stolen credit cards at Super Target and Office Depot in Savage.

Dillon Borowicz is a senior at Lakeville South.  He was a football and lacrosse player but in 2012 he was paralyzed in a diving accident.

Scott Proudfoot was an all state swimmer and helped lead Lakeville to a state title in 2006.  He was paralyzed in a diving accident in 2011.

A fundraiser fun run for Dillon and Scott will be held May 18th.

Gay Marriage Becomes Legal in Minn., Thousands Celebrate

As a crowd of thousands roared from the lawn of the state Capitol, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton signed the bill Tuesday that makes gay marriage legal here come Aug. 1.
