A career milestone and a rare family reunion. All of which left Lindsey Vonn in tears, and it made for a perfect day.

Vonn captured her 50th World Cup victory Saturday, winning the downhill on the demanding Kandahar course with temperatures plunging to minus 13.

Preferred Name Selected for Dakota County's New Regional Park

Whitetail Woods Regional Park could be the name of Dakota County's newest park.

The county's Physical Development Committee unanimously chose Whitetail Woods Regional Park as the preferred name of the new park in Empire Township, which is scheduled to open to the public in 2013.

The park features a small lake, wetland and 456 acres of wooded, rolling hills.

Dakota County Asks Residents About Winter Salt Use in Online Survey

Dakota County's Water Resources Department is conducting a Residential Winter Salt Use Survey to find out more about how county residents use salt in their efforts against slippery driveways and sidewalks.

City Reminding Pet Owners to Renew Pet License

The City of Burnsville is reminding all residents that dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets over 4-month-old must be licensed every two years.

To get a license, pet owners must show proof of current rabies vaccinations. Animals are required to wear their license at all times.

13 Counties to See Enhanced DWI Patrols

The 13 Minnesota counties with the highest combined totals of alcohol-related traffic deaths and serious injuries will see increased drunken driving patrols.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the patrols will be increased through September.
